As of June 2013, a new kite cable park is being constructed in the town, and is due for completion by October this year. If the weather turns sour and the wind drops, then you can still get out and practice!
None of the wind forecasts (Windguru or Windfinder) are terribly reliable for the thermal season. Wind conditions at this time of year are generally predicated on more local weather patterns, including the build up of storms in the interior. The reports below should be used as a rough guide only. The best way to get a wind report is to go down to the beach, check the sky and base a forecast on observation. Or speak to a local fisherman - they are the best weather forecasters around!
