KITEBOARDING

If you’re into kiteboarding aswell as paragliding, then you’re definitely looking at coming to the right place. Graham is particularly nuts about kiteboarding here: it has been his winter home for a few years now, and he's always raving about it. And with good reason too...

There are not many places around the world where you can combine a passion for paragliding & kiteboarding in the same place - and on the same day. But in our backyard in Pak Nam Pran, it is virtually a daily occurrence in the Spring.

And then there are the golden sand beaches and marine lagoons - perfect for learning or lazy downwinders. The landscape is practically deserted and is cradled by coconut farms, and aloe vera plantations.  The water lapping these luxuriant beaches is warm and inviting – these are tropical waters and you can stay in the water all day.

We offer a range of kiteboarding options including instruction, guided kite trips, kit rental & a competition tour. Take a look at what's on offer...

While the winds are not ‘strong’  they are laminar and reliable, and once they start blowing, they continue to blow until after the sun goes down.  Generally the thermal wind kicks in by the afternoon – around 2-3pm.  As a 75kg rider, you can expect to be out on your 11m or 12m most afternoons. In March & April though, the winds pick up, and you may find that a 9/10m serves you better on the stronger days.

Your tour leaders are not only accomplished paragliders, but are also keen kiteboarders too.  Graham has undertaken a number of long XC kite trips in Thailand, including a 3-day 200km kite bivouac trip. In an extension to the vol bivouac discipline, the ‘kite bivouac’ model takes to the seas. Writer Andy Pag recounts Graham's experiences here on Red Bull's website.
