A great start point for an XC campaign, but if all else fails, it's a beautiful flying site with unique coastal soaring appeal.
After a high tow, the morning cloudstreet right off the ocean points your way north / north west; the current open distance record from this site is 60.4km – by Matt Senior on 8 March 2013.
If you fail to connect, you land back on the beach and get another tow up to try again – or you can choose to soar the cliffs of Paradise Bay & the highrise condos overlooking the ocean. Landing out options everywhere with easy retrieves.
This is a fun site for pilots who have good soaring or XC skills. The coastline to the north is spectacular, especially with the morning cloudstreet, but the interior beckons, as the inevitable sea-breeze will work you inland soon after 11am.
